About Connor Donnithorne

I'm proud to be Cornish. I was born and raised here and now live just outside Redruth, where we are raising our young family. I grew up in a small business family and with my partner Elsie, we decided to move back to Cornwall after University to set up our own Cornish fish and chip shop.

We started our first business here in the constituency but are now the proud owners of Seasmiths in Town, an award winning Cornish fish and chip shop on the North coast of Cornwall.

Before moving back to Cornwall, I gained First Class honours from the University of Bristol and successfully joined a competitive graduate job programme with a leading UK supermarket. Here, I gained a valuable insight in supply chain management, recruitment and team management. Before that, I've had all kinds of jobs working in pubs, restaurants, on building sites and in care homes.

It was starting a small business, just three days before the Covid-19 lockdown, in the challenges of a seasonal Cornish economy that reaffirmed the importance of building a fair, strong economy that encourages enterprise and supports our small businesses and independent traders.

I'm also proud to be the Cornwall Councillor for Redruth Central, Carharrack and St Day. I'm the first Conservative ever to be elected in this division and am proud of our communities. I served in Cabinet at Cornwall Council between November 2022 and June 2024 in several roles including Transport and Customers Portfolio Holder.

In June 2023, I was selected to be the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle at the next general election. I am standing to be a strong, local champion for our communities both here and in Parliament.
